Watch the World’s Most Powerful 3-Wheeler Swap Go Berserk
It's somehow both underwhelming and terrifying at the same time.
When Gavin from Shred Eighty teamed up with Bummotorsport to ride what he described as the "World's sketchiest three-wheeler", I knew it wasn't clickbait because Gavin might have more experience with riding sketchy three-wheelers than anyone else. But when you actually look at the machine, it barely even looks like a three-wheeler, it almost just looks like Gavin is riding an engine.
When you hear what this machine is comprised of, it all makes sense.
Somehow, the folks at Bummotorsport managed to shoehorn a 1000cc inline-four cylinder engine into a 110 three-wheeler's frame. The tires are laughably tiny, and the lack of suspension just adds to the insanity once the vehicle is on the move. But as insane as you would think a 180-horsepower engine that weighs around 200 lbs in a 60 lb frame, it somehow is and isn't.
If you were to see its 0-60 mph time and top speed on paper, you wouldn't think the video was worth watching. But when you see it go, it's bonkers.

It seems like this monster just can't lay its power without lifting the front wheel, and if you try to overcome this issue by spinning up the rear wheels, you'll get the same result: the rider will be looking at the clouds in less than a second. Spoiler alert: Gavin ends up on his ass at least once. The lads from Bummotorsport claim that it's the "world's fastest three-wheeler," but something like a Honda ATC250R would destroy this thing in a flat-out race.
If you had to guess what felt faster with your bum speedo—this weapon or an ATC250R—my money is on this, and it absolutely sounds like the world's fastest three-wheeler. But forget about speed because the lads also claimed this is the "world's sketchiest three-wheeler," and when you see how it becomes a two-wheeler given the slightest push on the bars, I think you'll agree with them.
What's the sketchiest engine swap you've ever seen in person? Let us know in the comments.
