Registration is now open for the Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials (BMST) and AMA Land Speed Grand Championship.  This rider-friendly event is your opportunity to set new AMA National and FIM World records.

If you’d rather just run your bike on the salt to get the feel of the track, but not compete to set any records, BMST is also the only opportunity for you to take your street bike and get on the salt in the Run Whatcha Brung class down the same course as the high-test bikes running for those records and have an official Bonneville timing slip to prove it.

The folks running the Bonneville Motorcycle Speed trials said, “We looked at the numbers and talked to several teams and decided to adjust the process. We have lowered the cost for pre-registration and separated the Gate Entry from Record/Bike Registration so you only pay for what you use.   You will have the option to purchase Gate Entry for yourself and additional crew members at 1/2 price ($40) for the week when you register for Run Whatcha Brung, AMA National Records, or FIM World Records.”

To run for AMA national speed records you have to be an AMA member.  To find out about joining the AMA and to learn about the competition rules, see: http://www.americanmotorcyclist.com/

The 2015 event runs from August 29th to September 3rd.  To read more about what it’s like to run on the salt, see: MUST READ:  Time To Get On Track - Kickstand | RideApart
