This Supercharged Suzuki Motorcycle Makes How Much Power?
The guys at the UK's premiere supercharging moto candy factory TTS Performance are at it again, and this GSX1400 has been bulking up.
By now, you've seen the magic that the UK-based supercharging magicians at TTS Performance can work, and not just on the SuperBusa (though of course, that's probably the biggest showpiece). There's also this Triumph Rocket 3, for example. Or what I'm about to show you, which is a Suzuki GSX1400.
While not perhaps as universally beloved as the Hayabusa, the GSX1400 naked muscle bike undoubtedly has plenty of its own fans who love it to bits. Those fans are sure to love it even more once they see the kind of dyno figures that TTS is able to wring from its depths after getting it properly dialed in. Honestly, it's kind of of astonishing what a mere 10 pounds of boost can accomplish.
But first, before you get to the full dyno comparison chart at the end of this video (and even before you hear the thing go for its final run on the dyno to establish the full After figure set), you're going to get a little lesson in troubleshooting from TTS, complete with a marker and a whiteboard to diagram it all out.
Something wasn't quite right, so a quick check inside the cases, cross-checked with their old workshop notes on a service on this exact bike from 20 years ago (seriously) revealed that the exhaust cam timing was off significantly enough to cause a serious issue. For the visual learners, just watch the video to get an expert breakdown of the exact nature of the problem; but seriously, this is why keeping good project notes (yes, even if they're 20 years old) can absolutely be a lifesaver!
Anyway, on to the power gains once it's all sorted out. What are we talking? Try about double the torque and almost 100 more horsepower over stock.
I mean, did you expect to see a GSX1400 making a dyno-tested 219 horsepower at the wheels today? It's completely mental, and must be equal parts exhilarating and terrifying to ride. The kind of thing that makes you go giddy with a sense of hushed awe simultaneously every time you crack the throttle, no?
