I feel like I let everyone down by only giving three days advance notice about the annual Hell on Wheels motocross event, so I'm giving almost three weeks notice about his one. They are even having a special race early in the night just for people with no prior experience on a flat track (or any track). So grab some beat up project bike off of Craigslist that is no longer street rideable, and go have a blast!
The race takes place the night of August 29th at the Southern California Flat Track Association track in Perris, CA—not to be confused with the Perris Auto Speedway, which is a totally different track and about 10 miles away. It's an easy drive down from L.A. or up from San Diego. All the information is on the Hell on Wheels Facebook event page.
