Ski-Doo just brought back its Snow PASS program for the 2026 to 2027 season. BRP Inc. is once again putting real money behind the people who actually keep snowmobiling alive.

This isn’t about new models or cutting-edge tech. It’s about trail systems, volunteer crews, and the small clubs that make sure you actually have somewhere to ride. Ski-Doo is offering grants of up to $5,000 USD to nonprofit clubs and community groups across the United States and Canada. Applications are open now through July 31, with funding decisions landing by mid September.

The program itself is pretty straightforward, but also kind of essential. Snow PASS stands for Protecting, Accessing, Sustaining, and Supporting. That translates to funding things like trail grooming, signage, infrastructure upgrades, and even efforts to bring new riders into the sport. If it helps keep trails open, safe, and usable, it’s fair game.

And yeah, that matters more than people realize. Snowmobiling doesn’t exist without access. You can have all the horsepower and torque in the world, but if trails aren’t maintained or land access disappears, the whole thing falls apart faster than the fastest snowmobiles out there. That’s why local clubs are such a big deal. They’re the ones out there putting in hours on grooming machines, negotiating access, and keeping everything running when no one’s watching.

Ski-Doo says the program has already delivered over $1.2 million CAD (around $880K USD) and funded more than 240 projects across North America. That’s not massive money in corporate terms, but at the local level, it can mean the difference between a trail system surviving or shutting down for the season.

There’s also a subtle long game here. Supporting clubs keeps riders riding. Keeping riders riding keeps dealerships moving sleds. It’s not exactly a secret, but it’s also one of the smarter ways to invest in the sport without just pushing product.

This whole thing also ties into BRP’s broader push around responsible riding. That means encouraging safer behavior, protecting riding areas, and making sure the next generation actually has access to winter playgrounds. It sounds like PR, sure, but when it’s tied to real funding that goes straight to the ground level, it hits a bit different.

Bottom line, this is one of those behind the scenes moves that doesn’t necessarily catch attention but actually keeps the entire ecosystem alive. No trails, no sport. It's that simple. And Ski-Doo clearly knows it, and they’re putting money where it counts.
