Kawasaki Launched an Adorable Frog Collection, and I Want Every Single Piece
Kermit who?
Whoever said it wasn't easy being green apparently never told Kawasaki. Wait, that was Kermit the Frog? Well, regardless, I'm still guessing they never really sat down and had a good talk about it, because clearly Kawasaki has just been taking its favorite color and running with it, right from the drop.
And now, in 2025, they've teamed up with another Japanese icon to offer what might be the cutest collab this side of the Hello Kitty 50th Anniversary Super Cub.
If you're unfamiliar with Pickles the Frog, he's a Japanese mascot who's celebrating his his 31st anniversary in 2025, and is associated strongly with the concept of "returning safely" back home. Think of him like a much cuter St. Christopher, I guess? Obviously, every rider wants to return home safely at the end of their ride, too.
With shared goals and a shared favorite color, Kawasaki and Pickles creator Nakajima Corporation teamed up on a limited merch collab, which will exclusively be available at Kawasaki Plaza locations throughout Japan beginning on June 1, 2025.
There's a cute little beanbag plush, a magnetic beanbag plush (so he'll stick to your fuel tank, or other metal parts of your bike if you like), T-shirts for riders, and even a folding hand-fan you can use when it gets hot.
But by far, my favorite part has to be the fact that someone made a set of little Kawasaki leathers for your Pickles beanbag plush. Don't like leather? There's a textile Kawasaki riding suit that's specially sized for Pickles, as well. I am arguably an adult, supposedly, but do I want them both? I think you already know the answer.
What about pricing? Honestly, it's pretty reasonable for official OEM merch. The Kawasaki x Pickles the Frog beanbag plush carries an MSRP of ¥3,520, or about US $24. The magnet one is ¥1,760, or US $12. If you want the leather riding suit for your Pickles beanbag plush (they're sold separately, so you have to purchase both), it's ¥2,420, or US $16.50.
For heaven's sake, the textile riding suit even has little patches where knee and elbow armor would be. Are you squealing with delight yet? I hope so.
Since I brought up Hello Kitty, if you (like me) are wondering why it's Pickles the Frog and not Sanrio's own green frog mascot, Keroppi, I don't have a great answer for you. However, I can tell you that there was a Pickles the Frog x Keroppi collab a few years ago; a sort of frogception, if you will. I can't decide if it's cute or creepy if you're a frog mascot and you dress up in the costume of a different frog mascot; probably depends on context, if I'm honest. Or else I've watched too many horror movies.
The question here isn't "do you need a Kawasaki x Pickles the Frog magnetic mascot on your Z900RS?" No, it's probably "how badly do you need a Kawasaki x Pickles the Frog magnetic mascot on your Z900RS?" Either way, you can let us know in the comments at your leisure.
