Motorcycle Racing Nerds Get Ready for "Ago", the Giacomo Agostini Documentary

We don't get many of these, so I pray to the movie gods that this is a good one.

When you love motorcycling so much, as we all do here, you quickly run through the best motorcycle documentaries. Unlike the four-wheeled community, we don't have a whole lot to choose from. So, when a new documentary film or series comes out, all we can do is hope it's good—that's what I did with Born Racers, and I encourage you all to watch it ASAP.

Now, we have a new motorcycling documentary film to look forward to, and pray to the movie gods that it'll be good: "Ago"

Ago is a documentary presented by MV Augusta that celebrates the life of Giacomo Agostini—you may have heard of him.

For anyone who hasn't, Agostini has the most motorcycle titles ever in the World Motorcycle Championship, winning 15 titles and taking 123 victories in MotoGP, and 10 Tourist Trophy wins. The 82-year-old won most of his races aboard MV Agusta machinery, which is why the Italian manufacturer produced this documentary as it nears its 80th anniversary.

There'll be a preview of the documentary on March 6th in Varese during an event organized by MV Agusta. The night will be centered around Agostini, celebrating his record-breaking career while paying homage to the bond he shares with the Italian manufacturer. The best part is you can buy tickets to the event, and Agostini will be in attendance.

If, like most of us, you can't make it to Varese, fear not. The film will come out in cinemas on March 10th, 11th, and 12th.

I'm hopeful that this will be leagues ahead of MotoGP Unlimited, which I felt was generally a letdown for motorcycle fans. Ago will delve behind the numbers and titles that make the legend and tell the story of how and why Agostini symbolized that era of motorcycle racing. Moreover Ago will give us an insight into what pushed Agostini to achieve far more than any other motorcycle racer could.
