Sounds too good to be true, doesn't it?  Headlines like this one make us think of a those old TV commercials featuring a bloated Sally Struthers, posing and answering the rhetorical question, "Do you want to make more money?  Sure we ALL do."

But this marketing is one worth paying attention to, and no, you won't need to go door-to-door or need your friends get involved. The folks behind the very cool motorcycle trip planning and tracking app, Rever, have teamed up with with online power-sports retailer BikeBandit.com to create a marketing campaign that delivers on what it says.

Here's How it Works:

Running August 7th through August 21st, riders can join the challenge through the Rever website or the mobile app. Tracking rides in the app will place riders on a global leader board that allows them to see how they stack up against other challenge participants. Riders who track a modest 200 miles will earn $10 toward a purchase at BikeBandit. Riders who ride 500 miles or more during the two week campaign will be entered to win a $100 gift card at BikeBandit. Oh, and it's free to register for the BikeBandit Challange.

Who can't ride 200-500 miles in two weeks?

The Rever App is also free to download and also has a premium subscription option that unlocks some impressive features including Butler Maps exclusive road recommendations, offline map caching, and more. We think a digital version of Butler Maps road recommendations on its own is worth the cost of admission for the premium subscription.

So you're asking, "What's the catch?"  There really isn't one, so go ahead and look this gift horse right in its pie-hole and get out the and ride.
