I remember watching the Ducati global press conference when the Multistrada 1200 Enduro was announced. I laughed heartily because Ducati touted the Multistrada 1200 Enduro as being a true adventure bike, but the only video footage they showcased was the bike ripping it up on groomed motocross track.

Granted, the bike did jump and handle itself well, but I would only consider this bike to be a true adventure machine when and if it hit some real difficult terrain and displayed some robust ruggedness. My friend Travis went a step further and sent a note to Ducati saying he and a group of guys (myself included) would be happy to test the 1200 Enduro's adventure pedigree with a cross-country trip across the United States, and hit a Backcountry Discovery Route or two in Colorado or Arizona for safe measure. What better way to see if the 1200 Enduro is truly capable than to put it through the ringer by a couple of Joes? We are still waiting to hear back from Ducati.

In any case, Ducati just began showcasing the functionality of the Multistrada 1200 Enduro in a 6 episode series they are calling "The Wild Side of Ducati."

Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro Shows Its Wild Side - Video

I look forward to Ducati entering the ADV market. Right now it’s dominated by BMW and KTM, and with the praise the Honda Africa Twin is getting, I expect that bike to cement itself rather quickly.

Can the Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro compete in this bourgeoning ADV Market? Only time will tell. Until then, here is Episode 1 where some pretty slick riders off-road the shit out of the new Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro in southern Italy, Sardinia, Tuscany, and Spain. Enjoy.
