We're set for an absolute blitz of motorcycle media here in the next few years, as not only are we getting an Isle of Man TT movie from the likes of Brad Pitt and Channing Tatum, but it's just been announced that Alan Ritchson, Jack Reacher himself, is set to produce and star in an upcoming MotoGP heist film for Netflix. 

Feels eerily similar to when we got Biker Boyz and Torque all within the span of a year or so. I also remain steadfast in my belief that Torque is a fun, bad, good movie. 

Moreover, Ritchson's upcoming film, which comes on the success of his 'Predator'-inspired 'War Machine' film for the streaming giant, is getting a script from Chris Morgan, who wrote Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious, Fast Five, Fast and Furious 6, Furious 7, Hobbs & Shaw, and my favorite film from him, 47 Ronin starring Keanu Reeves and Hiroyuki Sanada. 

But how are they going to get around Ritchson being, as The Previous Owners puts it, the size of "two actual racers wearing a trench coat"? Cause if you don't know already, actual MotoGP racers are basically jockeys. And Ritchson is...not.

According to Deadline, "The film revolves around a crew of motorcycle thieves who begin stealing priceless antiquities around the world. Interpol recruits a onetime MotoGP prodigy (Ritchson) to catch them — until he realizes the ringleader may be his younger brother long believed dead."

I mean, I'm game for that tagline, you know. And from the pedigree of ludicrous action fun movies that Morgan has penned, which also includes Wanted, Shazam, and producing Bird Box and The Mummy (Tom Cruise edition), there's some real potential for a very silly good time. Kind of how the original Fast and the Furious was, as well as how Point Break (the original) was, which inspired the Fast films. 

And Ritchson is a motorcyclist, himself, so he understands a lot of the dynamics that'll go into making a motorcycle shot for film work, compared to those who don't ride. But it's going to be an interesting dynamic given his Reacher size. 

You know, when the first Jack Reacher films first debuted starring Tom Cruise, folks had issues because the books describe Reacher as having Ritchson's build and stature. And now, with this new MotoGP film, folks are going to take issue with Ritchson not having Cruise's build and stature. I need to see these guys in the same film, is what I'm saying.
