This Is The Only Good Three-Wheeler. So Buy It Now
Morgan's 3-Wheeler remains the GOAT.
I have opinions on three-wheeled vehicles. I know, shocking.
Most are not great. They're either the trike motorcycles that Harley and Indian produce, which are sketchy as hell and look like a couch. Or they're the odd, car-esque thing that Polaris produces, which is really just a way of getting around federal safety standards and looks like a Temu Gundam. They're just not my bag, though to each their own.
There is, however, one great three-wheeler. A machine that encompasses all the danger and pizzazz of a regular motorcycle, and distills it into a machine that just makes you giggle like a child each and every time you get behind its dorky-little wheel: The Morgan 3-Wheeler.
And right now, you have a chance to snag one of them for yourself. You just have to be brave enough to buy the accompanying scarf and WWII bomber goggles, and brave enough to own what has to be one of the most unreliable vehicles ever made. But I promise you, when it works, it'll be glorious.
Morgan 3-Wheeler
This particular model is a 2021 and is currently for sale on Doug Demuro's Cars & Bids auction site. It's also the final year of this generation of the Morgan 3-Wheeler, with the next gen leaving the big 2-liter S&S V-twin behind.
According to the listing, it carries a clean Virginia title, and shows only 2,900 miles on the odometer—shame! However, it also states a host of things have been fixed during its life, including a recent engine oil and filter changed, an alignment performed, "rattles fixed," a replaced steering rack boot, one of the front turn signals was replaced, and though it it's been barely driven, it already needed its exhaust pipes refinished. There's also a new lightweight battery.
Ages ago, I got to spend a few weeks with this generation of Morgan 3-Wheeler, and it was life-changing. I found a few hiccups here and there, and according to a friend who famously owned one—Hi, Alex!—it was the best, worst car he'd ever owned. And, honestly, I can see why.
You sit impossibly low to the ground, the engine vibrates the whole thing, there's wind and dust and debris in your face, the transmission is out of a Miata, it does amazing donuts, and just makes you smile like the Joker. It's a stupid, dumb, bad, amazing, brilliant, fun-loving machine. If I had the cash, I'd buy it myself.
Right now, the bidding is up to $31,500 at the time of writing, with a day or so left. They don't come up for sale all that often, though, so if you want this orange one, you're gonna have to act fast.
