Singer Yungblud Crashed His Motorcycle At Sturgis and Broke His Leg, Says The Tour Is Still On
His 'Idols' world tour remains a go.
We've all been there. Been at the mercy of a motorcycle and the dreaded "clibbins," only to find ourselves injured after a crash. The old adage of "It's not if you'll crash, but when," is a truism for a reason. We all crash at some point, with others getting hurt more than others. And if you ride dirt, you'll likely crash a lot more often just due to the nature of riding off-road.
But unlike you or I, an injury will only likely affect us, our families, and maybe a few folks at our work. It doesn't affect thousands upon thousands of workers, fans, and those putting in their blood, sweat, and tears to make a concert tour happen. That, however, could've happened over the weekend.
The pop-punk UK singer Yungblud, who's an avid rider, was on his way to the Sturgis motorcycle rally over the weekend for the annual Black Hills festival when he unfortunately crashed his motorcycle, breaking his leg. Undeterred, however, Yungblud not only continued on and performed at the rally, but now says despite the broken leg, his "Idols" world tour remains on.
Talk about dedication to the craft.
Before the accident, which reportedly occurred before his Sturgis performance at the iconic Buffalo Chip, the singer-songwriter had been touring the States for his aforementioned "Idols" world tour, with the last...leg of the tour ending with this performance. I know, the irony.
Yungblud had been riding around on a Harley-Davidson just a few days before, on what looks to be a Street Glide. According to Billboard, "A representative for Yungblud confirmed to Billboard that the 29-year-old musician broke his leg in a minor motorcycle accident last week at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, South Dakota." However, that representative, and then Yungblud himself, stated that the rest of the world tour would continue, with the singer taking to social media to show off his broken leg, and tell everyone he ain't stopping.
"Leg fucked. Still giggin," said the singer, adding, "Still standin (sort of). Portugal and Belgium I’m comin and it’s gonna be fucking mad. See you next week. Let’s ride."
Pretty hardcore, if you ask us.
