The 2026 Suzuka 8 Hours endurance race is just around the corner, you guys! As usual, Honda is of course deep in the preparations for this year's event, and it's just unveiled the livery it plans to run this July. When bike number 43 shows up on the grid, it'll be piloted by Kazuhiro Kojima, Yosuke Ide, and one other rider who's yet to be announced.

And it will look like this, thanks to a collaboration between Honda's employee racing team, Honda Ryokuyokai Kumamoto Racing, and the world-famous cute character goods company, Sanrio. The team's Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade will wear a very special, very purple Kuromi livery for the event.

If that's not enough cuteness for you, the team's equipment and apparel will not only feature Kuromi, but also Hello Kitty and Pompom Purin. Please witness Exhibit B for further information/inspiration.

Now, if you'll notice, this image shows Purin, Kuromi, and Kitty all wearing what looks like pretty standard, slick Honda team gear. They are not wearing Honda x Sanrio-branded gear, because perhaps that would be a little too Inception (Sanrio-ception?) for this particular pit box.

What we haven't seen yet is the team leathers for this event. Now, teams will frequently have special leathers to go along with special liveries their racing motorcycles might have, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there are Honda x Sanrio leathers to go along with the Kuromi Fireblade.

I mean, to be honest, when the Honda x Sanrio collab just included things like scooters, Super Cubs, and Monkeys, I was happy enough. When the Honda x Kuromi special merch collection was released, I was over the moon. But this? This is next-level. Please pinch me, because I'm pretty sure I'm dreaming. And if a Kuromi-liveried Fireblade just happens to win the entire Suzuka 8 Hours outright, well, then I'll know that none of this is real.

But I'll enjoy it all the same.

What do you think?

For anyone planning to attend the Suzuka 8 Hours in person, on Monday, June 8, 2026, Honda will officially open up ticket purchasing for Smile Rider Support Seats. Just 150 of these packages will be available, and they'll include a commemorative baseball jersey and likely other adorable character goods. Seats will be located in the V2 grandstand, right where you can see the home straight, as well as the pit boxes. First come, first served on June 8 at 11 a.m. JST!

There's also a very special ZERO YEN pass for attendees aged 16 to 23, which will come with a special, limited-edition Smile Rider Project support flag (while supplies last). You can already apply for through July 5, and these passes include use of the pool, as well as access to all-you-can-ride attractions at the Suzuka Circuit Park.
