onX Offroad Wants to Give You, Yes, You, $1,200-Worth of Gear If You Can Find Them
All you have to do to have the chance to win $1,200-worth of prizes is find a trail guide around the country and onX Offroad will toss you a bunch of dope gear.
I'm a big fan of free. Buy-one, get-one type stuff, raffles, lotteries, and other contests where you can nab some free gear or other things are big in the Klein household as, and I don't know if you know this, but writers aren't paid what you'd call great wages these days. Plus, I grew up poor, and free gear will always trump spending my own money on things.
I mean, I basically won the lottery with my elk hunt this year, and that turned into a once-in-a-lifetime event. I still had to pay, but you get the idea.
But when I see something that could net other folks some free gear, especially in this economy where the average person is hurting, I'm gonna shout it from the rooftops. So when I saw that our friends over at onX Offroad were doing a "Trucksgiving" event, though it's not exclusive to trucks—UTVers are part of this, too—I knew I had to share it with y'all.
Best of all, you've got the chance to win $1,200-worth of prizes, ranging from Yeti coolers to Solo Stoves. All you have to do is show up to one of a handful of trailheads this weekend, and then find the trail guide working for onX...
Yep, this is a scavenger hunt, as onX states, "On November 22, onX Offroad and Toyota Trucks are teaming up for our first-ever Trucksgiving – a series of off-road celebrations across the country powered by GPS, Toyota Trucks, and the spirit of adventure. Here’s the plan: onX Offroad is sending 7 of our Offroad Trail Guides out in the wild for a series of meetups and raffles where 5 lucky Offroaders who find each Trail Guide will walk away with $1,200 in total prizes. That means that 35 offroaders will be heading into Thanksgiving with the grand prize bundle listed below, and the others that show up will leave with yearlong Offroad Elite memberships + onX branded swag!"
So how do you find the guides? Easy. For those who have onX Offroad, you'll need to click this link, find the nearest location that's participating, and head off into the woods on the 22nd between 2-5 pm. And for those folks who don't have onX Offroad, but still want to participate, don't worry, you're not SOL, as onX shared these general locations for you to test your mettle in finding the trail guides: Tennessee/ Great Smoky Mountains area, California/ Mammoth Lakes area, Missouri/ Ozarks area, Phoenix, AZ/ Tonto, National Forest area, Northwest Montana area, North East Florida area, and the Southern Idaho area.
As for what you'll win, the prizes total some $1,200-worth of gear, including grand prizes of a Toyota Branded China Set, Yeti GoBox 60L, Yeti 10oz Mug (x2), Pour over (x1), Yeti 18oz water bottle, Stainless Steel Cutlery, Full-Length Bib Apron, Solo Stove Classic Bonfire Pit - 19.5”, RumplMat/Blanket, and a MountainSmith Cooler Cube. Likewise, others will have the chance to walk away with a year-long onX Elite membership and other branded gear.
For the folks who don't have it, you've got your work cut out for you. But I believe in everyone's ability to navigate and potentially find some success. So get out there this weekend, find your trail guide, and snag some free stuff. Because who doesn't love free?
