The Yamaha D'Elight Is A Delightful Little Commuter

Commuting on a scooter is one of the most fun and no-frills ways of getting around, especially in the urban environment. A scooter, with its extremely light weight and easy maneuverability presents itself as the ideal means of personal mobility while being affordable to buy, and extremely cheap to maintain. That being said, Yamaha's entry level scooter in the Australian market makes for the perfect gateway drug for thus looking to get started on two wheels, or those simply looking for an alternative to driving or taking public transport. 

The Yamaha D'Elight 125 is a stylish and affordable scooter that's extremely easy to ride and affordable to buy and maintain. Granted of course, riding a machine that weighs close to (or even less than) its rider means that it won't be achieving breakneck speeds, however piloting a nimble, lightweight scooter around town is a different kind of delight. 

Worrying about fuelling up will be one of your tiniest worries as the D'Elight's delightful 125cc Blue Core engine is extremely fuel efficient, and is capable of delivering well over 40 kilometers per liter (90 miles per gallon). The fact that this little scoot comes equipped with a CVT transmission makes it extremely effortless to ride around town. As far as styling is concerned, the Yamaha D'Elight sports an unmistakable modern European design with high quality plastics used in the bodywork. 

Another strong point scooters like the Yamaha D'Elight present to their users is ample under-seat storage space. The D'Elight's massive storage compartment is big enough to house your groceries, a full-face helmet, and even a laptop or tablet. You can even carry a small bag upfront by way of a clamp-type hook situated on the leg shield. 

As far as safety is concerned, the D'Elight features a 12-inch front and 10-inch rear wheel which are fitted with Yamaha's Unified Braking System (UBS), which enable the rider to actuate both the front and rear brakes with the pull of one lever. Priced at a measly $3,500 AUD, the little scoot weighs in at just 220 lbs with a full tank of gas. Included in the package price is a 12-month registration, of course.
