Ouch. Where do I even begin? It’s an unhealthy question to ask any bike lover, but fine. I’ll pick just one. If you twist my arm, I’m going to have to say the new Moto Guzzi V85 TT. My heart is torn between the Goose, the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 and the Ducati Scrambler 800. The V85 comes out on top because it checks off more boxes than the other two. And it’s slightly less dangerous for my license.

I’m not too demanding in a bike: I want relative comfort and fun. The Ducati Scrambler falls closer to the “fun” end of the spectrum. In fact, I’ll go as far as to say it’s the most fun bike in my trifecta. The Ninja 1000 tips the meter towards the middle. While everyone I mention the Ninja to pictures a crotch rocket, I know for a fact that the standard Ninja 1000 is not only a devilishly fast bike, but also a surprisingly comfortable travel companion.

In the end, however, the V85 combines the ingredients I look for better with some sprinkles on top. It might not be Scrambler/Ninja level in terms of fun, but it pulls its weight in that category and adds some serious touring and trailing chops.
