Stop Riding Your 2025 Yamaha Ténéré 700 Right Now. At Least, Until You Get This Recall Done

On June 9, 2026, Yamaha Motor Corporation USA issued a safety recall with a Do Not Ride notice for all 2025 Ténéré 700s. The issue relates to a turn signal that could fail to operate as the rider expects or intends. If turn signals are not operating, riders could potentially be at an increased risk of injury or death because they would not be able to properly signal a turn to traffic around them.

Approximately 4,173 motorcycles are believed to be impacted by this US recall, which represents 100% of the population according to Yamaha's records. Affected bikes were produced between December 2, 2024 and August 29, 2025.

Yamaha USA received notification from its parent company, Yamaha Motor Co. Limited, that there was a defect in the design of the turn signal circuitry inside the Meter Assembly on the affected production range of bikes. All unsold machines with this meter assembly were then placed on a sales hold and were prohibited from being delivered to customers until this recall item was addressed.

As of July 9, 2026, Yamaha states that it has not received any reports of accidents or injuries related to this issue. Nevertheless, it is issuing a Do Not Ride advisory to owners until this issue can be addressed by having a recall service performed by an authorized Yamaha technician.

Yamaha USA plans to notify its dealer network about this problem between June 26 and June 29, 2026. That's also when it plans to notify all registered owners of the affected bikes.

Owners will be instructed to schedule a recall service with their local authorized Yamaha dealer, where the entire meter assembly will be replaced at no charge to the customer. The VINs for affected bikes will be searchable in the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration database on June 26, 2026. Yamaha intends to leave this recall open and will make replacement parts available to address this recall for the next 15 years, according to the recall paperwork.
