Isle of Man TT's Senior Race Concludes After Just One Lap. Here's Who Won, And What Happened

After just one lap out of a scheduled four, the IOMTT Senior TT was red-flagged after a rider crashed out on Lap Two. Here's what happened.

The 2026 Isle of Man TT, as an event, is now officially in the history books. Who won? Michael Dunlop added another three TT victories to his already remarkable career, bringing the total up to 36 TT wins. That's nearly one TT win for every year the Ballymoney man has been alive; a feat that will likely remain unrivalled for some time to come.

Dunlop also set a brand-new lap record in the Sportbike class on his Paton, which is officially clocked at a stunning 124.530mph. Is that icing on the cake? You tell me.

Qualifying week in 2026 had much better weather than race week, and many races were canceled or cut short this year as a result. The Senior TT's end result was declared after a red flag on Lap Two halted the racing. After deliberation, the IOMTT organizers officially declared the Senior TT's results based on standings at the end of Lap One, with Dean Harrison coming in first place, making him a two-time winner of the Senior TT. He's now also won a total of seven TT races over the course of his career. Peter Hickman came in second, and Josh Brookes in third.

The red flag on Lap Two of the Senior TT came when Erno Kostamo crashed at the 11th milestone. Thankfully, he later posted an update on his Facebook page to let fans know that he has had the surgery he needed to both his legs, and that he is now recovering. What do you think?

After all was said and done, due to various circumstances, just five races (including, as mentioned above, the Senior TT being declared after only a quarter of the planned race distance) were run during Race Week at the 2026 IOMTT. As for winners, it was basically the Michael Dunlop and Dean Harrison show, as the two of them split the race wins between them.

Did you attend the 2026 TT? Did you watch it streaming online from elsewhere in the world? Fan reaction to this year's abbreviated and weather-stricken event has been mixed; but then again, that's frequently the case. If you'd like to share your opinion, feel free to do so in the comments below.
