Sometimes, it's the little things in life that bring the most joy, isn't it? If you're also a firm believer in little treats when you've earned them, and you're a Vespa fan, then you're going to want to see this adorable Vespa 80th Anniversary set from Playmobil

It's sweet, it's simple, and it's truly joyous to look at (and probably even more joyous to play with, let's be honest). And at just US $17.99 (excluding VAT; if you live in a country that assigns VAT, then it'll likely cost just a little more), the amount of joy this will bring you is surely well worth the nearly negligible cost.

The Vespa 80th Anniversary Playmobil set comes with a sweet cream-colored Vespa with a brown saddle, as well as a rider who's already attired in matching cream-colored riding pants, a blue shirt, and matching brown gloves and boots. The white helmet and scarf and retro goggles are also a fantastic touch, as is the little picnic basket and "Vespa Magazine" newspaper that tucks neatly inside the basket.

But it's the details that truly make this toy special. The decal sheet includes little Vespa logos, including the special 80th anniversary one. The pièce de résistance, however, is the little license plate sticker you're meant to stick on the back of your Vespa. It reads, "Roma 23 04 46," which is the historic design patent date that the first Vespa in history was officially registered. Chef's kiss, guys. Truly.

Naturally, though, I couldn't help but wonder if there aren't a couple other key items from Playmobil that also belong tucked away inside that picnic basket, and that aren't included in this Vespa 80th Anniversary kit. A little poking around revealed that yes, Playmobil has made baguettes in the past. Delicious!

What else do you need for a proper picnic on your classic Vespa, whether or not you're channeling your Gregory Peck and/or Audrey Hepburn fantasies, though? Wine, obviously. That's true whether you're riding in Italy, France, or probably lots of other places.

But Playmobil, like Wu Tang,  is for the children, right? So surely, they wouldn't also have some little bottle(s) of wine you could innocently tuck in the back, only to be enjoyed when you've pulled off into a gorgeous meadow or beach somewhere to enjoy a lovely and spontaneous picnic, right?

Friends, I present to you the Playmobil Wine Bar. It was apparently some kind of April Fool's joke, but I'm certain some diligent fan or another could 3D print something very similar with ease.

As, for example, this Playmobil enthusiast shop that sells custom pieces, such as a medieval wine press kit for when you and your Vespa 80th Anniversary playset go time-traveling.

What do you think?

Veering back onto the path of actual licensed Playmobil products, you can also stop at a French bakery for your all your pain and pâtisserie needs. And if road traffic gets too hectic and a truck smashes you and your Vespa 80th Anniversary, it's also probably good (if somewhat unsettling) to know that Playmobil has you covered with an officially licensed MRI kit (complete with child). Unclear if that very loud clanking sound is included, nor the earplugs and headphones that a technician will ask about what music they should play for you and then completely ignore, but it won't matter because you can't hear any music over the ungodly noise anyway.

Have you already ordered your Vespa 80th Anniversary Playmobil kit before finishing this post? Or are there other adorable Vespa collectibles you think I should know about? Let me know in the comments below.
