Honda MSX125 Grom Gets A Trio of New Colors, Is Still Not A Yamaha

While it's true that the Grom is easily one of Honda's more angular, Transformer-esque motorcycle designs, one color choice stands out.

After undergoing a facelift in 2025, the Honda MSX125 Grom is back in 2026 with some new colors for fans to get excited about. At least, in Europe, which is where these colors are rolling out first; as we've noted in the past, Honda frequently rolls out new colors elsewhere before some or all of them eventually make it to US shores. So if you like one of these colors, wait a bit and see if it might come our way down the line.

I could tell you about how Honda's proud to note that they've sold nearly 900,000 Groms since the model first debuted in 2012 (the actual number they give is 863,000). I could also note that one of the new 2026 colors, Gayety Red, is essentially yet another Honda Red design that neatly integrates Honda Racing Corporation's tricolor pattern, which I and many other Honda fans worldwide tend to adore beyond reason. (I mean, it's just so cool!)

And I could also tell you about how Pearl Shining Black is what almost seems like a completely non-distracting colorway, built expressly for the folks who are going to buy their MSX125 Grom and go HAM on the modifications, in such a way that there's really no need to spend time on any more expressive paint color options. A blank slate, almost, but also clearly good if you're rocking a monochrome vibe, or you just want the stealthiest MSX125 Grom around. You do you!

But while those two colors are in the mix, it's really the third 2026 color option that I want to talk about today. Why? I can probably show you better than I can tell you.

Yamaha Introduces New Colorways For The MT-03 In The Asian Market

Now, obviously no one in their right mind is ever going to mistake any generation of MSX125/Grom for an MT-03. That's not the point I'm trying to make here, and even though I do require corrective lenses to see, I'm pretty sure that remains true even with glasses off.

What do you think?

At the same time, though, Honda's Splendid Blue colorway does come awfully close to that irrepressible teal colorway that Yamaha likes to use as an accent color on many of its offerings. It's also strikingly similar to Petronas Blue, which Yamaha did in fact use on a limited-edition R1 a few years back.

But anyway, feel free to share your thoughts on any or all of the Grom's new European colorways in the comments below. Pricing information hasn't been released yet, but given that the 2025 MSX125 Grom carries an MSRP of £ 3,999 (about US $5,372 at the time of writing), it's unlikely to be priced much higher when it is finally announced.
