Arctic Cat Just Hired a CFO Who Actually Rides, Not Just Crunches Numbers
Tony Henningson joins Arctic Cat as CFO with decades of powersports experience and real rider credibility.
Arctic Cat has just appointed Tony Henningson as its new chief financial officer, and the standout detail here is how perfectly he fits the brand’s revival mindset. Arctic Cat is deep into a rebuilding phase, and they keep adding people who understand the culture as much as the business.
Henningson checks that box right away. He grew up in Minnesota, he’s been around snowmobiles and powersports his whole life, and he brings a serious financial background to a company that wants to compete hard again.
That mix of real rider experience and seasoned financial leadership is not something you see every day. Henningson has more than 30 years of professional experience, and 17 of those were spent inside the powersports and marine world. He held key roles at Polaris, Genmar, and KTM, so this isn’t someone guessing what the market wants. It makes sense why he said he’s honored to help drive Arctic Cat’s resurgence and why he framed the job around supporting dealers, suppliers, and riders. It feels like he actually gets the community.
Arctic Cat President and CEO Brad Darling called out that balance of financial know-how and genuine enthusiasm. Henningson’s background includes banking and manufacturing on top of his powersports experience. That gives him a broader look at how to build a stable, competitive business. Darling also emphasized that he is a rider at heart, which lines up with the direction Arctic Cat’s leadership team has been taking.
The current ownership group took over in April and has been steadily filling key positions with people who bring skill, perspective, and real interest in the sport. It is a deliberate move. Arctic Cat keeps talking about its Riders First promise, and hiring people who live the lifestyle is an easy way to bring that philosophy into the boardroom.
With Arctic Cat trying to climb back toward the front of the segment, bringing in a CFO who knows both how to manage the books and how it feels to squeeze a throttle seems like a smart call. Not flashy, not overly polished, just a practical step in the right direction.
