Fox Racing Introduces New V3 RS Wired Motocross Helmet
Get dirty, but protect your head.
Is it time for a new helmet—specifically, one of the motocross variety? If you’ve been going through your gear collection and found it’s time to switch things out, you may want to know about Fox’s latest V3 update. It’s called the V3 RS Wired, it’s DOT and ECE 22.05 certified, and it seems like Fox listened to what riders wanted in this update. Let’s take a peek under that peak.
Starting on the outside and working our way in, the shell is made up of Fox’s multi-composite technology, which blends carbon fiber and FRP resins into one strong, resilient, lightweight shell. Rider head sizes range from S to XL—and this helmet likewise features four different shell and EPS sizes to ensure the best possible fit for each head size.
This helmet is also MIPS-equipped for added impact and energy dispersion in the event of a crash. Additionally, it uses dual density EPS foam to further spread impact forces across a wider surface area. There’s a bunch of ventilation and airflow, but it’s shielded by mesh screens to help prevent dirt and debris from getting in and clogging up your ride. Closure is via carbon fiber D-rings.
The magnetic visor release system (MVRS) allows the visor to flex under impact in a crash, then break away via two side shear-off screws if necessary. It’s yet another way Fox seeks to mitigate serious injury to your head in the event of a crash.

A removable comfort liner and removable cheek pads are antimicrobial, moisture-wicking, and totally washable. Plenty of riders were dissatisfied with how the old version fit, so Fox took that into account when redesigning the V3—and early rider reviews say that the V3 RS Wired is a big improvement.
Price and availability may vary by region, but in the U.S., MSRP is $519.95 at the time of writing. It comes in three colorways: fluorescent yellow, fluorescent orange, and steel gray.
