With just 700 units in its limited-edition run, KTM opened pre-orders for the 890 Adventure R Rally. First up was the 500 units reserved for most of the world, and on November 2, 2020, came 200 units reserved just for North America. Folks, it’s November 3rd as I write this—and all 700 pre-order units are already spoken for.Â
KTM says you can still sign up with its pre-order form to be put on a wait list, in case anyone changes their mind. Your favorite Austrian OEM noted that the 500 worldwide bikes sold out in just 48 hours—but we note that according to KTM’s counter, all 200 North American units sold out in under 24 hours. Â
When you go to find out more information about the bike and place your pre-order, you’ll of course see some specs. It’s powered by the same 889cc parallel twin that you’ll find in all the 890s at the moment, which makes a claimed 105 horsepower and 73.7 lb-ft of torque. Â
The Adventure R Rally also comes with the upgraded WP XPLOR PRO suspension, as well as an AkrapoviÄŤÂ exhaust that’s 35 percent lighter than the stock unit. Other sundry upgrades include a quickshifter fitted as standard, narrower rims with tubes, carbon fiber tank protectors and rally footrests, as well as special graphics, a clear windscreen, and little winglets. Â
The price was the one thing KTM didn’t announce ahead of time, and you can’t see it if you’re just browsing for information—but it becomes visible if you click through to preorder. It’s $19,999 in North America, or €20,899 in Europe. Â
