2027 Norton Manx R Review: The Real-World Superbike We've Been Waiting For?

I tested the all-new 2027 Norton Manx R superbike at its launch in Seville, Spain. Check out my video review after putting the bike through its paces on the twisties and a few sessions on track.

The new Norton Manx R is the first all-new platform to hit the road under TVS ownership, and it's here to make a statement. Norton is back; it's time for 'The Resurgence'. But being an all-new platform, there's a lot to unpack, especially considering the unique approach the brand is taking. So, I took to the roads around Seville, Spain, and the Monteblanco circuit, to get to grips with the world's latest 200 hp-plus two-wheeled weapon.

Norton wants the Manx R to be an everyday superbike. The approach the brand has taken to achieve this is giving the bike ungodly levels of torque but a relatively low redline when compared to its rivals. The headline is a 1,200cc liquid-cooled, 72-degree V4 engine, producing 96 lb-ft of torque at 9,000 rpm and 206 hp at 11,500 rpm.

Compared to the rest of the superbike class, the Manx R is slightly down on peak power but has more torque than any other superbike, and 70% of it is available at 5,000 rpm. Although the Manx R isn't made to steal lap times from it's European rivals, it's still supposed to hold its own on track and so comes with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V4 tires and Brembo's latest Hypure calipers.

I specifically tested the Manx R Signature edition, which is the third-highest spec model in the range. Basically, that means Marzocchi semi-active suspension and lashings of carbon fiber throughout the body, which also helped the Manx shed a few pounds compared to the lower lower-specced trim models in the range.

What do you think?

But the Manx R is almost as much about style as it is performance, with essentially no visible fasteners throughout the super clean body work. There's also a distinct lack of aero drippings that we associate with modern-day superbikes; read "winglets". For some, this will be undoubtedly the best-looking superbike on the market.

But the question of performance is what I'm here to test.
