And there’s plenty of room for sponsors on this all-white carbon helmet from AGV.

What’s not to love about a white helmet? Form it out of carbon fiber, add some MotoGP pedigree and make the fit customizable, and you’ve got a lightweight lid that is likely to appeal to most riders. Only there’s a catch. It’ll cost you $1,729…

The helmet in question is AGV’s latest, a limited-edition model of the Pista GP, made (in)famous by nine-time MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi, who wore Pista GP RR helmets for much of his career. This one is specifically designed by AGV for MotoGP racers but is now certified to meet the stringent new ECE 22.06 and DOT safety standards.

The shell is constructed entirely from carbon fiber, which “provides unmatched energy absorption on impact without sacrificing the helmet's ultra-lightweight architecture,” according to the press release.

For those unfamiliar, the AGV Pista GP RR sits at the top of the company’s helmet hierarchy and is currently being worn by several MotoGP racers. It features a rapid hydration system, developed with input from GP riders, and tips the scales at just 1,450 grams (3.2 lbs).

The fit of the helmet can be personalized thanks to a 360-degree “Adaptive Fit” system that allows riders to fully customize the positioning and thickness of the upper pad, nape, and cheek pads to match the shape of their head.

What do you think?

The Pista GP RR features AGV’s Ultravision clear visor, which is 5 mm thick and offers a panoramic 190° horizontal and 85° vertical field of view. The shell was wind-tunnel tested to deliver optimal aerodynamics and high-speed stability, which is aided by an integrated rear spoiler that ensures stability at high speeds and dramatically reduces neck fatigue, according to AGV.

So, if you want the MotoGP look, but don’t care for the crazy colorways and custom graphics found on a lot of lids, the Pista GP RR Mono White might be the ultimate subtle statement. With an MSRP of $1,729, the GP-derived helmet offers a lot for go-fast riders that don’t want to compromise when it comes to comfort, visibility, and safety, but you might need some sponsors to help cover the cost.
