Doubling down on the idea that the ATV market is getting its second, er, third wind, Yamaha releases a full line of four-wheeled machines for 2027.

If you spend a weekend at Glamis during “the season,” you’ll know the ATV market is alive and well. The same can be said for the Midwest and East Coast, where OHV parks and racetracks are often full of weekend warriors riding these fuel-powered four-wheeled machines.

So, it comes as no surprise that Yamaha, the only manufacturer still producing a sport quad, has updated its lineup of ATVs for 2027, to include new colors, as expected.

As mentioned, Yamaha is the only OEM still producing a sport-quad, something the company is notably proud of, and a product that they do not struggle to sell. The YFZ450R remains the top choice for ATV racers and combines a high-performance 449cc engine with a lightweight aluminum frame, fully adjustable long-travel suspension, and an assist-and-slipper clutch designed to reduce lever effort and improve handling through corners.

You can read more about my experience aboard the 2026 YFZ450R here.

For younger riders (ages six and older), though, Yamaha offers the YFZ50, an approachable machine with plenty of performance in an entry-level package. It’s the perfect machine to get the kids going, and one that hasn’t changed much over the years, for good reasons.

Riders looking for more, namely in the power and suspension department, Yamaha offers the Raptor 700R, which delivers big-bore sport-quad muscle thanks to its 686cc engine, hybrid steel-aluminum frame, and responsive handling, which makes this the perfect machines for both the dunes and wide-open terrain.

And when your kids are ready to step up to something bigger, the Raptor 110 gives riders (ages ten and older) a youth-focused ATV with electronic fuel injection, a beginner-friendly CVT transmission, and approachable ergonomics.

But sport-quads aren’t the only thing rolling out of Yamaha’s manufacturing facility in Newnan, Georgia. The company also offers a line of recreational and utility ATVs, badged as the Grizzly and Kodiak. These machines are great for exploring the backcountry, trail riding, property management, hunting, farming, and countless other outdoor applications.

The Grizzly is Yamaha’s flagship utility ATV, which is powered by a 686cc engine, and features torque and speed-sensitive electric power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, and independent long-travel suspension. And for the younger riders (again, ten and older), there’s the Grizzly 110, which Yamaha says, “offers aggressive styling and confidence-building performance in a youth-focused package.”

Stepping up to the plate for the big projects is the Kodiak 700, which is similarly powered by a 686cc motor that delivers smooth, low-RPM power in a compact chassis. The Kodiak 450 is the mid-sized model, using a 421cc powerplant and featuring practical utility items such as steel cargo racks, a two-inch hitch receiver, and available EPS on select trims.

What do you think?

In all, there’s something for everyone, and every kind of activity in Yamaha’s 2027 ATV line. Whether you’re looking to rip the dunes at Glamis on a Raptor 700R, line up at a GNCC race aboard the YFZ450R, go on a hunting expedition with help from the Grizzly XT-R, or tend to your property with some assistance from the Kodiak 700, there’s a model in this line up for you.

2027 Yamaha ATV models will be available at dealers in 49 U.S. states, however one of those is not California, due to California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulations governing off highway vehicle use.
