Michael Schumacher's Honda Superbike Just Sold for a Bunch of Money
F1 Legends' Race Prepped CBR1000RR Just Sold at Auction For Twice What Was Expected
When you’ve collected a record-setting seven Formula One World Drivers' Championship titles, why not collect a few other things as well… You know, like motorcycles!
Used for track day sessions by the seven-time F1 champion, Schumacher’s 2010 Honda CBR1000RR SC59 “Fireblade” hit the auction block at RM Sotheby’s last month and was expected to sell for somewhere between $30,000 to $40,000 USD. Holzhauer Racing Performance (HRP) converted the Fireblade from road to race specifications for Schumacher to use during test days. The bike features traction control and wheelie control managed by an ECU, as well as special components such as an airbox, oil cooler, quick shifter, Akrapovič Titan exhaust system, and more that HRP outfitted the Fireblade with for the German F1 legend.
With 3,730 kilometers on the odometer, the bike obviously not a show-pony for Schumacher, who can be seen riding the Fireblade in a variety of photos included in the RM Sotheby’s auction listing.

Racing bikes that have been owned by motorsport legends show up in auctions from time to time, including Casey Stoner’s 2007 MotoGP title-winning Ducati Desmosedici GP7, which sold for roughly $535,000 in 2024, and the KTM RC16 used by Brad Binder during the 2023 season, which achieved a top speed of 366.1 km/h (227.4 mph), which was offered at auction by RM Sotheby's in May of 2025 and sold for an estimated $398,000.
But while Schumacher’s Fireblade isn’t a race bike with pedigree, it was ridden in anger by one of the greatest Formula 1 drivers in history, and came with a Schuberth helmet and a pair of motorcycle gloves signed by the Red Baron himself.
So, what was the sale price for a custom track bike built for and ridden by Michael Schumacher? $75,000 USD! Nearly double what was expected at RM Sotheby’s much anticipated “The Champions – Schumacher and F1 Legends” auction which took place from July 23-30, 2025.
