BRP Is Recalling Some Ski-Doo and Lynx Snowmobiles For Crash Hazard

All affected models are from the 2025 model year.

If you live in the US or Canada and you purchased certain 2025 Ski-Doo or Lynx snowmobiles, parent company Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) is recalling them for a potential safety issue. On 2025 sleds equipped with either the 600R E-TEC, 850 E-TEC, or 850 E-TEC Turbo R engine, there's a risk of the throttle sticking due to a broken engine control module (ECM) bracket.

During production of 2025 MY sleds that use these engines, the ECM bracket may have been broken somewhere in the production process. Pieces of this broken bracket could fall into the engine compartment and potentially wedge themselves in such a way that the throttle sticks. This could, in turn, cause unintended acceleration of the sled, which could increase the risk of a crash, injury, and even death.

Transport Canada issued a recall for this issue in February 2025, while the US Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a recall for this issue on March 20, 2025. Around 4,144 sleds in the US and 2,205 in Canada are believed to be affected per BRP's records. So far, the US CPSC states that BRP has received four reports of stuck throttles related to this issue. So far, no injuries have been reported.

According to the letter BRP is sending to all registered owners of affected sleds, the company recommends that riders not ride these snowmobiles until they have the recall service performed by an authorized Ski-Doo or Lynx dealer. The full recall inspection and procedure should take less than an hour, and will be performed at no charge to the customer.
