The 2016 King of Motos: One Gnarly Extreme Enduro - Video

Jimmy Lewis, one of the few American motorcyclists to podium in the Dakar Rally, thought it would be a fantastic idea to put a massive group of riders through a no holds barred, extreme enduro course in the California desert. Thus was born the King Of Motos.

Held annually in Johnson Valley, CA, the Klim King of Motos One Day extreme enduro kicks off the week long King of Hammers event, which is reserved for some equally gnarly extreme four-wheeling competition.

As you can see in the video below, riders are introduced to the landscape with a warm-up loop in the morning. How they fare will determine their position for the afternoon race. The course itself is an eight to nine mile loop, and any racer that is lapped is removed from the competition to allow the more skilled riders to compete.

After battling fierce weather and staunch opposition, Red Bull Factory rider Cody Webb took top honors in this year's competition. This was Cody’s third time winning the event.

Jimmy Lewis offers off-road riding courses and holds a yearly event in the Western Nevada desert called, Taste of Dakar.
