Ducati's Espresso Machine is a $3k Nespresso-Based Birthday Gift
At $3,000, it's an expensive espresso machine for sure, but as an espresso machine that bears the Ducati logo, and as a coffee addict, the Barista M3 1926 Carbon Fibre is brilliant.
If you don't, I'm a coffee addict. I mean, I have three children under the age of eight, how could I not be? Likewise, I like good coffee. Single origin, ground in a Fellow conical bur grinder, good water (second best in the state), and at the perfect temperature. That kind of coffee nerdery.
So you best believe that I stood up and took notice when Ducati announced that, for its anniversary, it was going to sell a limited edition espresso maker draped in carbon fiber and the sort of technical wizardry that embodies everything Ducati does.
Oh yeah, and it'd cost $3,000 after you do a bit of exchange rate conversion.
But interestingly, while the specs belie an incredibly competent espresso machine, one where you can control water temp, pressure, extraction levels, and more, it doesn't have a porta filter as you'd expect from most high-end, coffee-snob adjacent machines. Instead, it uses Nespresso and Nespresso-style pods, and while I get most folks are very familiar with those things, for $3,000 and all the bells and whistles within the Barista M3 1926 Limited Edition Carbon Fiber by Ducati, I would've expected to be able to use my own beans...
The unit itself is made by Cuisine Barista out of Switzerland, which has a history with Ducati, offering up another Barista M3 a year or so prior to the birthday celebration edition. Yet, the latest notches up everything, and gives the end user a truly unique experience, one brewed in Ducati tradition. Excuse the coffee pun, but how could I not?
According to the company, "The Cuisine Barista M3 coffee machine combines Swiss-designed excellence with advanced brewing technology, offering features like precision adjustable temperature, a 7-second cold start, and a premium milk steamer, and an in-cup frother to deliver a superior coffee experience. Crafted from full stainless steel and designed with sustainability in mind, this machine ensures durability, efficiency, and a perfect cup of coffee tailored to your preferences."
The machine itself comes with a removable 1.4-liter water tank, a PID Controller, an alarm for descaling, a push-button controller that allows you to choose which coffee style you want, in-cup milk brother, steam nozzle for out of cup frothing, and the espresso component gives you up to 19 Bar of pressure. There's also an app where you can control everything from, which makes perfecting your cup of coffee or espresso an absolute breeze.
Unlike the regular Barista M3, however, the Ducati version is draped in carbon fiber, is festooned with Ducati logos, and even has the same colorway as your Panigale. It also comes with a Ducati cup, so you know you're extra cool. According to Ducati, however, it is a limited edition, and if you're both a coffee addict and Ducatista, you're going to have to pony up before the 1,926 models are gone.
But again, I'd personally like to have my own beans and porta filter, but for the person on the go, or who wants the fastest cup of java around, you probably can't beat this.
