LiveWire Is Bringing Two New Models To EICMA, What Do You Think?
Harley’s electric mobility brand is set to debut two new offerings in Italy next month, but do we want them?
The EICMA International Motorshow is just around the corner and the LiveWire Group, aka Harley-Davidson’s electric mobility brand, is set to unveil two new models in Milan, Italy on November 4, 2025.
According to their press release, LiveWire will have a comprehensive display featuring new electric motorcycles, an expanded STACYC line, and updates on projects they’ve been working on to include the upcoming maxi-scooter and law enforcement solutions. This announcement highlights LiveWire’s efforts to innovate in the EV space as well as their continued global growth.
LiveWire will introduce the S4 Honcho Trail and Street models to EICMA attendees next month, a 125cc-equivalent mini-moto that is intended to expand access and affordability to riders around the world. The S4 Honcho Street will be suitable for folks with an A1 license in Europe and the UK, as well as US riders with their motorcycle endorsement. The Trail edition does not require a license as it is an off-road only model with increased ground clearance, knobby-ish tires and even a reverse gear to get you out of precarious situations. Production is set to begin in the spring of 2026.
At last year’s EICMA show, LiveWire announced its strategic partnership with KYMCO, the start of a joint development project for LiveWire’s forthcoming maxi-scooter. And now that scooter is here, sort of. Utilizing LiveWire’s S2 powertrain, the S2 Maxi-Scooter has gone from a digital render to a life-sized concept that will be unveiled to the public in Italy. This will be LiveWire’s first foray into the electric maxi-scooter space, a segment that many EV brands see as the future, especially in European markets.
LiveWire’s S2 line will also be on display at EICMA, including the S2 Alpinista Corsa concept. This is perhaps the coolest thing the EV brand is bringing to Italy, and will showcase its DC Fast Charging technology that is allegedly capable of “recharging a 10kWh pack from 20 to 80% in under 10 minutes.” It also looks awesome, and comes equipped with BST Twin Tek wheels, Öhlins front and rear suspension, clip-ons, rear sets, and all sorts of carbon fiber bits.
In all, LiveWire will have a slew of new and forthcoming products on display at EICMA, some of which I’m excited to see, while others seem to be solely aimed at the European market, and would not do well on this side of the Atlantic, in my opinion.
That seems to be the case for most EV brands at the moment, though. Maxi scooters and mini-bikes work well in cramped European countries without interstate highway systems, while the more performance focused machines and racing inspired concepts seems to grab the attention of American riders. But will US riders actually buy any of these? The market for mini-bikes is littered with ICE powered offerings from the big Japanese brands, and while I can see a use for an EV equivalent, I’m not sure North American riders are ready to let go of their Groms.
