Rider Slaps “WILL RUN” Fake Plate on Unregistered Motorcycle, Cop Chase Ensues
Don't act like you weren't warned.
We've had some absolutely ridiculous police chases come through the RideApart site over the past while, dangerous ATV encounters with the cops, and a MotoGP star whose street riding antics put him under the microscope. While we don't condone police chases, reckless riding, or anything other than safe two-wheeled spins, I'd be hard pushed not to let out a little giggle if I saw a bike with a license plate reading "WILL RUN" on the back.
A man in southern Minnesota led authorities on a high-speed chase while riding an unregistered motorcycle with a license plate reading "WILL RUN". He's now in jail.
The incident took place after the Meeker County Sheriff's Office was alerted of a motorcycle rider "driving at speeds over 100 mph, back and forth" on Highway 55, through the town of Watkins, which is about 25 miles southwest of St. Cloud. I think you can guess where this is going.
After a deputy attempted to pull over the 37-year-old Watkins man, he fled and led the officer on a two-mile pursuit. Eventually, the suspect pulled his motorcycle into a residential area and continued the chase on foot, the Sheriff's office said. The foot race didn't last long, as the suspect was soon arrested and is now being held in Meeker County Jail, in Litchfield.
It probably won't surprise you to learn that the guy riding an unregistered motorcycle with a fake "WILL RUN" license plate faces several criminal charges including fleeing an officer, driving after revocation, and reckless driving. This guy was quite literally asking for it and embodies the mentality of "something something, find out".
Have you ever witnessed or been a part of police baiting that you've come across during your time on two wheels? Let us know in the comments without incriminating yourself, of course.
