Can-Am is Recalling 'Certain' 2025 Origin and Pulse EV Motorcycles

There's something to be said about first-year products. Doesn't matter who they're from, nor how good ramping up production goes, there's always something that seemingly occurs when you're putting together something at scale for the first time. 

I rarely, if ever, buy a first model year anything, myself. 

And that seems to be the case with Can-Am's new recall of certain 2025 Can-Am Origin and Pulse electric motorcycles, as according to the brand's recall, water may enter the bikes' battery case. That's probably not good.

According to NHTSA Recall Campaign Number 25V275000, "Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) is recalling certain 2025 Can-Am Origin and Pulse electric motorcycles. The breather valve may not seal properly and allow moisture or water to enter the high voltage battery." As such, if water enters the battery case, it could "result in the loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. In addition, this could lead to a battery fire when parked or riding, increasing the risk of injury."

The recall states that BRP has already issued a letter to owners, stating, "Owner notification letters were mailed May 2, 2025," and were told that they should come into dealerships for a remedy. The fix includes installation of "a new protection plate or replace the breather valve if necessary, free of charge." A total of 474 motorcycles were supposedly affected by this defect, according to documentation provided by the NHTSA. 

Dealerships should look up the affected VINs, as not every motorcycle is affected by the recall, through "BOSS Web/Warranty/Campaign Monitoring to know which units in your inventory are impacted by this campaign." Replacement parts began being sent out as of May 1st for North America, while outside regions began shipping May 8th.
