Video pays homage to a championship-winning partnership between “Pops” Yoshimura and Suzuki Motorcycles

In 1978 Hideo “Pops” Yoshimura began tuning Suzuki motorcycles. The next year Wes Cooley was crowned AMA Superbike national champion, a feat that was achieved on a Yoshimura-built/tuned Suzuki. This marked the start of a partnership that is now celebrating four decades of high-level competition and more than a few poles, podiums, wins, and titles along the way.

The combination of Suzuki’s performance and potential and Yoshimura's innovative tuning techniques has been a proven recipe for success over the years. That success continues to this day with Yoshimura Suzuki remaining a force to be reckoned with on the track, as demonstrated by Tony Elias' 2017 MotoAmerica Superbike title won aboard a Yoshimura-tuned GSX-R1000.
