Is Indian’s MMA-Themed Bagger Totally Badass Or Totally Cringe?
Indian Motorcycle and MMA apparel brand Venum team up for a limited-edition Challenger that sparks debate on style.
Indian Motorcycle France just teamed up with Venum, the combat-sports brand that lets regular humans cosplay as pro MMA fighters during their Sunday cardio kickboxing class. The result is the Indian Challenger Venum, a collaboration that supposedly blends motorcycle culture with MMA energy.
But here’s the real dilemma: is this thing actually badass… or is it actually cringe?
I mean, MMA is cool. Motorcycles are cool. But combining them doesn’t automatically unlock some ultimate warrior mode. Sometimes it just feels like someone in the marketing department asked, “What if bagger… but cage fight?” and nobody had the guts to raise their hand and contradict them. So we get the Challenger Venum: camo paint, hype-man copy about modern warriors, and a Dr. Jekill & Mr Hyde exhaust that feels like it should be narrated by a wrestler cutting a promo.
And look, I grew up watching the Undertaker roll into the ring with his custom chopper, raising the lights while 20,000 people collectively lost their minds as Limp Bizkit’s Rollin’ blasted in the background. And at the time, it was peak badass. No explanation needed. No press release calling him “a symbol of raw commitment and excellence.” He just rode out, and you sorta just felt it.
On the other hand, this feels like a bunch of 90s kids (like me) tried to bottle that energy, shake it up with some Monster Energy, and pour it over a modern cruiser. And yes, I know that pro wrestling and MMA are two different things with two different vibes, but still. Nonetheless, I respect the ambition, but the whole thing strikes me as a little more “direct-to-DVD wrestling reboot” than hyped-up MMA entrance.
And that’s the thing, right? Truly badass things don’t introduce themselves as badass. They just show up and get the job done. Meanwhile, the Challenger Venum arrives with a flowery press release declaring itself a “mechanical work of art for modern warriors.” That’s basically the motorcycle equivalent of wearing a T-shirt that says “Don’t Mess With Me.”
Now don’t get me wrong. I’m not shitting on this bike and all it stands for. I mean, it was obviously meant to be loud and get a conversation going. And of course, there’s something undeniably fun about it. It’s absurd, it’s loud, it’s throwing elbows in a category known for chrome and boomer energy.
And honestly? I kinda admire the commitment. If you’re going to make a bagger that looks like it’s about to walk out for a title fight at the UFC, then fine. Lean into it. No half-measures.
So is it badass or cringe? Well, I think it’s both. Sort of like a perfectly executed flying knee or a failed attempt that ends up in a meme compilation. It’s biker Undertaker energy filtered through 2025 marketing. It’s ridiculous, earnest, and exactly the kind of thing that gets people talking.
Which, let’s be real, is probably the whole point.
