RideApart is Hiring: Daily Editor

Hey! It’s apparently boom time in the moto-journalism industry. Like our pals over at Motorcycle.com, we’re looking for someone to join our team of two-wheel-loving buffoons. In this case, however, you don’t have to own your own pickup truck, don’t have to live in (über-expensive) Southern California, and don’t have to look good in YouTube videos.

In fact, you don’t even need to wear pants to do this job.

You do, however, need to possess an excellent command of the English language, a ridiculous enthusiasm for motorcycles, a strong work ethic, and experience in the digital publishing world. The newly created role of daily editor will be responsible for the everyday running of RideApart, ensuring that stories are written, edited, and published on time.

As such, you’ll need to possess excellent copy editing skills, as well as the ability to quickly learn and adhere to the RideApart editorial style guide. You’ll need to be able to work to deadlines, and basic photo editing skills are a must (resizing, cropping, etc).

This is a remote, freelance role, which means you can be located any old place in the world that has a good internet connection and there is a certain amount of flexibility in terms of working hours. However, you will need to be able to regularly interact with the site director (that’s me) in the United Kingdom and the folks in the U.S. Eastern Time Zone who sign our pay checks.
