Dunlop Releases Old Favorites in New Sizes
Dunlop rolls out Sportmax series' Q3+ and Roadsmart III, and Elite 4 rubber in new sizes.
Dunlop’s Sportmax Q-series tires have increased in quality over the past few years with the release of the Q3 and then more recently the Q3+. They provide ample and consistent grip and boast a surprisingly decent life-span. So riders piloting certain entry-level machines may be happy to hear the Sportmax Q3+ tires are now available for numerous 300-400cc bikes. Owners of mid-to-full-size ADV bikes can now wrap their wheels in Dunlop’s Sportmax Roadsmart III, and those looking to do some distance can now equip their touring sleds with the American tire manufacturer’s Elite 4 tires.
Starting with the Sportmax Q3+, the hypersport rubber is now being made in 110/70ZR17 and 150/60ZR17 sizes in order to fit entry-level models like KTM’s RC and Duke 390 and BMW’s G310R. As the official tire sponsor of MotoAmerica, Dunlop will see its Q3+ tires exclusively used on the machines in the 2018 Junior Cup class. Adding to its touring rubber range, Dunlop is rolling out its top-selling Elite 4 tire for both 110/90-18 and 150/80-16 front tires. With the Elite 4’s already covering a wide range of rear-sizes, the new front sizes open the touring tire up to a lot of new bikes.
Dunlop also announce that it will now offer its Sportmax Roadsmart III in 110/80R19 and 150/70R17 to fit a handful medium and full-size ADV machines like Yamaha’s Super Tenere, Suzuki’s V-Strom 650 and 1000, Triumph’s Tiger models, and BMW’s R1100, 1150, and 1200GS. The previously existing 170/60ZR17 can now be paired with the new 120/70ZR19 to accommodate BMW’s popular R1200GS, and KTM’s 11 and 1290 Super ADV bikes.
