If you’re unsure of how a bike makes you feel, look no further than the odometer. Assuming that you’ve owned the motorcycle for some time, the total miles ridden should hint at how much you enjoy the bike. Especially when a motorcycle is new (or new to you), we tend to find any excuse to ride it. We dedicate weekends to it. We sneak in an extra ride during our lunch break. We plan track days or cross-country trips on it.
If the phrase “more miles, more smiles” holds true, the odometer may be a very dependable fun meter. Of course, odometers are subject to the segment, as a dedicated dirt bike will definitely have less mileage than an adventure bike. However, if you’re confused about how much enjoyment you experience from a given motorcycle, you should check out the odometer before making a final assessment.
