It’s not just about looking like a racer. Hanging your body weight off your motorcycle means the bike itself can stand up a bit more in corners. I know it sounds counterintuitive, but we’re going to go over how to practice doing this. When your bike isn’t scraping hard parts in a corner you also have a larger tire contact patch, a greater margin for error and the ability to brake later and accelerate sooner. It doesn’t mean you have to race on the street, but when it comes to getting the hell out of Dodge, it’s good to have a pile of options at your disposal.
