Iceland isn’t nearly as cold as people imagine. Temperatures hover around 30°F in the winter and 46 in the summer, which, granted, by Californian standards is pretty cold, but for everyone else, not all that bad.

We recommend you tackle this trip in the spring and summer, when daylight hours are long enough to truly enjoy the natural majesty of the island. The Ring Road takes you around the entire island and allows you to enjoy some of the most pristine and untouched landscapes in the world. From volcanic landscapes and glaciers to nordic lagoons, fjords, and plains, the Icelandic wilderness is a sight to behold. Be ready: you will want to stop every few miles to take pictures.
