When I say “group” ride, I mean “more than one” but I also mean “no more than five.” A group any bigger than five gets unwieldy very, very quickly. Four bikes is generally my max, when all of us are good, trustworthy riders. Toss a new rider in there and the number goes down. If more bikes show up than you were expecting, it’s much safer to split up the group than it is to try to drag eight or ten motorcycles down the road.
