Eight thousand kilometers, 19 borders, 15 countries, four weeks, one man, and one motorbike. These stark, but simple figures equal one epic motorcycle journey.

This past summer, Jacob Laukaitis made the gutsy decision to attempt one of his longest-held goals. He bought a motorbike, got his driver's license, shaved his head (an odd, but heavy point of emphasis) and began his quest to cross the Balkan States.

Jacob told us that his route was not planned in advance and that no map was used. He rested at night after choosing his direction for the following day.

One Man's Epic 8,000km Motorcycle Journey

Jacob rode through Lithuania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Greece, Macedonia, Kosovo, Serbia, Romania, Hungary, and Slovakia. The only Balkan States he skipped were Bulgaria and Moldova.

Jacob's trip should serve as a reminder that you have to get out and take the risks in order to make your dream a reality.
