Like an excited grade school student when their science fair plant starts growing, Indian Motorcycle is carefully watering the seeds and monitoring the progress of its nascent European Flat Track Series. For 2019, Indian Motorcycle rider Leah Tokelove took second place in the championship, with Krazy Horse teammate Lee Kirkpatrick in third on the European Hooligan podium. What will happen in 2020? That’s what they’re hoping we’ll all want to find out.

For the 2020 IMEFTS, there are three classes: Hooligan (road-based machines, including the FTR 1200 and Scout), Pro (open entry with lightweight DTX-based machines), and a pre-1975 vintage class.

Amateur and pro riders alike are invited and encouraged to compete, and the circuits have been chosen with mixed abilities in mind. The idea is to get people into European Flat Track, showcase some of the best riders the sport has to offer, get some experience for those who are just starting in the sport—you know, all the good things a series like this tries to do. It’s pretty multifaceted when you wipe a little of the dirt off your face.

2020 Indian Motorcycle Europe Flat Track

The series will consist of four rounds, with only the three best results to count when tallying the final results for the season. Cash prizes will be awarded on top of any local event prizes, and riders can register free for all events. However, registration is required prior to the event, so get your name in if you plan to compete.

Speaking of competing, here’s the full calendar:

  • Round 1: May 2 and 3, Hells Race, Holland, at the Dirttrack Lelystad Stadium. Light-shale short track, open to all three classes.
  • Round 2: June 6 and 7, Greenfield TT, United Kingdom. It’s a concurrent round of the UK DTRA Indian Motorcycle Flat Track Nationals Series, as well. Dirt-track TT course, only suitable for Pro and Vintage courses. Hooligan machines will find it unsuitable and will not race here.
  • Round 3: June 13, El Rollo at Wheels and Waves, San Sebastian, Spain. Dirt short-track, open to all classes, massive event at the annual Wheels and Waves festival.
  • Round 4: September 18 through 20, Krowdrace, Parchim, Germany. Shale half-mile, open to all classes.

Registration is free, but all competitors must be registered if you want to win prizes. You must also agree to abide by the series’ rules, as well as local rules and license requirements with local event organizers. Registration opens in January and will remain open until just before Round 1 in Holland. You can find full rules here
