Sun, sand, and so much speed.
Roland Sands is a renaissance man. If he’s not building gorgeous customs, designing discerning moto gear, or organizing hooligan competitions, he’s throwing the beachside bash of the year. On October 26, 2019, Roland Sands Designs will host the third annual Moto Beach Classic and they have a full day of fun in the sun planned for the audience.
Held just north of Huntington Beach in sun-drenched Orange County, California, Bolsa Chica State Beach offers ample real estate for RSD’s moto utopia. The event will include flat track races, drag races, Super Hooligan stunt shows, art exhibits, and a surf competition all backed by the sounds of live music and crashing waves. The array of activities should draw everyone from beach bums to art snobs to the shore for a celebration of speed and surf.
Of course, a Roland Sands event wouldn’t be complete without a custom bike show and the organizers take full advantage of the beachfront location. Staged on the sands of Bolsa Chica State Beach, guests can peruse the assortment of beautiful builds with the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean. From Shovelheads to scramblers, from bobbers to Beemers, the broad range of bespoke bikes reflects the brand that inspired The Moto Beach Classic.

Roland Sands Designs resides at the intersection of cafe racers and cruisers, straddles the line of wax denim jackets and moc toe boots. It’s that ability to appeal to multiple communities that attract an eclectic mix of attendees and entertainers to the yearly event. The diversity of the Moto Beach Classic is no more evident than in the musical lineup, with headliners Fishbone playing a fusion of ska/funk and openers Bent Duo banging out a brash brand of rockabilly garage rock.
With the forecast calling for clear skies and a high of 77 degrees, it’s the perfect time of the year to take in the sights and sounds of California. If you’re in the neighborhood—or neighboring states—The Moto Beach Classic is worth the trip. Whether you carve waves or carve canyons (or both), get yourself to Bolsa Chica State Beach next weekend for the party of the season.
