Every Friday, we introduce you to awesome riders who give us a unique look of the world on two wheels and, lucky for us, make YouTube videos out of it.
This week, we’re looking at the work of the team at EverythingEmpire. We actually talked about those guys earlier in the week, when a video of how they managed to dunk a Triumph Street Scrambler into the ocean surfaced. True, they’re a bit dumb, but after digging into their YouTube channel, I found out they’re pretty talented dummies.
The group of gearheads has produced a number of videos, most of them just for the glory of riding awesome bikes in equally awesome locations. The team of athletes—because I think that’s what we can call them—takes on stunting, and drifting, and whipping, and trashing like it’s nobody’s business. The resulting videos are pretty impressive—especially the quality of production that propels even a simple bike ride to divine levels.
One of the team members, Ernie Vigil, is a well-known stunt rider who seems to be leading the pack. Not all Empire’s videos are irreverential—some take us behind the scenes where Vigil is modifying a Triumph Speed Triple. We also get to have a look at Nick Apex’s modified Triumph T100 turned into a neo-bobber.
Their videos won’t teach you anything about self-discovery, or parts of the world unknown. No, what they do is entertainment. Flat out, “I-don’t-care” entertainment. They’re obviously having fun and it’s contagious. The best part is that they don’t seem to take themselves too seriously—that’s how we are treated to the whole “Scrambler going for a swim” debacle.
You don’t have to agree with what they do, but you have to admit that the result is pretty cool. Their stuff is worth taking a few minutes out of your busy day to check out and enjoy. If you don’t smile by the end of it, you get your money back. Wait.
