Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should do it

There’s good and there’s bad on Craigslist, a place where you can find cheap furniture and a DJ who will also paint your house. You can also dig out some really amazing bargain vehicles sold by people who don’t realize what they have—those are probably the best finds. Sometimes, however, among all the say normal listings, you’ll find an oddball. This oddball is one I feel I should buy just to put out of its misery. Behold, the John Deer Ninja trike!

The Wonderful World of Weirdness

You guys, this one takes the crown. I don’t even know where to begin. What you are looking at is a hybrid between what was probably a perfectly good 1992 Kawasaki Ninja 250 and an equally good lawn tractor, united by an evil spirit into one horrible-looking creature on three wheels.

The Ninja was relieved of its front steering shaft, fork, and wheel, which have been replaced by the front portion of the lawn tractor to give the creature a Can-Am Spyder-like quality—if any definition of the term quality even applies here.

The seller explains he bought it from a widow whose husband got it from a Kawasaki expo back in the day. Note that numerous people have actually spent money on this. The current owner repainted the black trike green; not even the engine was spared. A gaudy sickening spray-can green complete with white exhaust and red wheel hub—who’s the lucky future owner?

He says it runs well. I don’t doubt the mechanical state of the sad affair; I only doubt it’s safe to run at all. Lawn tractors aren’t known for their comfortable and elaborate suspension and the ride is probably awful. You know what the worst part? I don't see a mower blade anywhere. It doesn't look like it'll actually mow your lawn!

I’ll hand it to Dr. Frankenstein, as garbage as the idea was, the end result is well put together. That gaudy green tho’. Anybody want to pitch in? We should kill it with fire.
