To some, Steven Johnson is an absurdist whose illustrations, originally published in the 1980s, betray an old-timey Cold War optimism that now comes across as quaint. Unless you consider the new Ducati Multistrada, which pretty much looks just like the Cyclehome and multitasks with more computers than the Motorcycle Office. Or just compare the Boatercycle to Honda's Goldwing, both of which are land-yachts with stacked captain's chairs, gigantic windshields and weigh more than a car. While many will dismiss these and other shocking similarities to coincidence, we smell conspiracy.
