Watch this video of a motorcycling performing a merging fail

The first thing I thought when I saw this video was, “Was this guy drunk?” I mean, how can you punch the throttle on a YZF-R1 while merging onto the interstate and not even look over your shoulder to, I don’t know, make sure you don't merge right into a car?

This guy did exactly that—he didn’t yield, didn’t look over his shoulder, and ultimately paid the price when he slammed into a white truck. What sucks even more is that he did all of this while wearing only a helmet and gloves. As you can see around the :34 second mark, he is looking down at his arm that now has been attacked by a case of road rash.

Merging Fail: Motorcyclist Collides with Truck

So remember folks: While merging onto the interstate, stay in your merge lane until it’s safe to hop into the interstate lane, gradually roll on the throttle while doing so, and wear a bit more gear (like a jacket would have really helped in this case). This guy was really lucky he was able to walk away from this.
