Stage 9 of the 2017 Dakar has been cancelled due to inclement weather, specifically heavy rain. The deluge was so intense that it set off a massive mud slide that has engulfed the town of Volcan and made it impassable for racers and support vehicles alike. If the rally competitors manage to make it to Chilecito and get a good night’s rest prior to the start of Stage 10.
