Jonah Street’s Yamaha WR450 Dakar racer
This is Jonah Street’s new Dakar racer. The American rider finished seventh overall last year on a KTM, but the advent of the new 450cc capacity limit has seen him migrate to a 2011 Yamaha WR450-based racer. Two of these bikes were built, Jonah will take one to Argentina and is selling the other (the practice bike) to help fund his efforts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRqoXF-E73c Built by ...

Knox Zero OutDry: dry hands
Rather than simply include a waterproof membrane “bootie” loosely stitched inside the shell, these Knox Zero OutDry gloves take advantage of new laminated membrane technology to completely seal water out of the glove. No more sodden insulation, water can’t get past the outer shell. Working in a similar fashion to Gore-Tex Pro Shell Leather, OutDry is a new process for bonding a totally w...

Which manufacturers are racing in Dakar 2011?
This pie chart, created by Dakar racer Marie Hessel, shows how many bikes from each manufacturer are competing in the 2011 rally, which starts in Buenos Aires on January 1st. KTM is down from 126 competitors in 2009 to just 62 ...

This is your motorcycle scene
A bunch of people have been tipping us on this video, so we figured we’d better run it. Created with a text-to-movie generator, “This is My Scene” is a hilariously accurate send up of the tries-to-hard vintage motorcycle scene. Think of it as Hipsters vs “Real” Motorcyclists with audio. This photo's from Grant's feature on the Brooklyn Invitational, which is really awesome. http://www....

George Brough in action on his own Brough Superior
Pictured above is George Brough riding to victory in the eight-day Austrian Speed Trials aboard his very own Brough Superior SS 100 Alpine Grand Sport in 1925. Brough personally guaranteed that each SS 100 was capable of reaching 100mph, something he verified himself on each bike he produced. This same motorcycle will be auctioned on December 15, where it’s expected to go for between $600 and $7...
